What you can do, and how to set it up
Every recruitment firm is starting from a different place. Some want the whole AI desk. Some want one thing fixed: the morning chaos, the cold calls, the notes that never get typed up. Some want to talk about the fee model before any of the tools.
All of it is fair game. There are two routes, and the first one is free.
Do it yourself, free
Everything I build on the channel is given away: the map that shows where AI actually helps on a recruitment desk, and every prompt, in full, with nothing held back for a paid tier. If you are willing to put a few evenings in, you can build the same four boxes I run my desk on without paying me anything.
That is not a loss leader with the good part removed. It is the whole thing. Most people who take this route never speak to me, and that is a perfectly good outcome.
Do it with me, one to one
The advisory is for owners who would rather not spend a year working out which parts matter. Three months, just the two of us, two calls a month plus direct access in between.
What we actually work on
- Positioning. What you are the obvious call for, and what you stop saying yes to. This is usually the hardest conversation and the one that changes the most.
- The fee model. Moving off contingency, what to charge, and the exact words for the conversation where a client asks you to discount and you do not.
- The AI desk. Built around your firm, not mine: what to automate first, what to ignore, and what to stop paying for.
The terms, plainly
Direct access does not scale, so it stays small. When the six seats are taken there is a waitlist and I will tell you so, rather than squeeze you in and give you a worse version of it.
Who this is for, and who it is not
- You own or run a small recruitment firm, or you are about to
- You are tired of competing on volume and speed
- You know one sector well enough to be the expert in it
- You are willing to turn work down to get there
- You want more candidates out of the same model
- You want AI to do the recruiting for you
- You are looking for scripts rather than a position
- You need the next three months to look like the last three
Common questions
Do I have to go fully retained to work with you?
No. Most firms move in stages, and some never go all the way. What matters is that you stop doing three weeks of proper work on the chance a client might change their mind. Where you land on the scale is your call, and we work it out together.
Does this only work in construction?
No. Construction is my market, not the method. The model is sector credibility, a position clients recognise, and a desk lean enough that one person is enough. That transfers to any sector where clients hire senior people and care who they hire.
Do I need to be technical to build the AI desk?
No. Every build on the channel is done on screen, in plain language, with the prompts given away. If you can copy text into a chat window and connect your calendar, you can build it. I am a recruiter who learned this, not an engineer.
Is this recruitment coaching?
No. Coaching tends to work on activity and mindset. This works on positioning, the fee, and the systems behind them. I am not going to talk about your morning routine.
What if the six seats are full?
There is a waitlist and I will tell you plainly that you are on it. Direct access is the thing being sold, so overfilling the group would mean selling something I could not deliver.
What happens after the three months?
We stop and look at what changed. Some people carry on, some have what they needed and go and run it themselves. The three months is a complete piece of work, not a hook into a longer contract.
How to start
Put fifteen minutes in the diary and we work out whether it is worth doing at all. If I do not think I can help, I will say so on that call rather than take three months of your money. If you would rather write first, email me with the subject RETAINED and one line on where your firm is now, or send the same by LinkedIn.
Or just ask a question
You do not have to be buying anything. When you download the map you get a short email sequence, and the replies come to me rather than a support inbox. Tell me what you are trying to set up and where it is stuck, and I will point you at the right episode or tell you straight if the thing you want does not work yet.
